Axle Issues

We have a 2022 Montana 3863 BP and just wondering if anyone out there is having issues with the alignment on their axles.

it is a 41 foot trailer with tandem leaf spring axles and it seems that the camber or toe-in/out seems to have gone as the front tire is wearing out on the outside tread.

the trailer only has 10,000 km (6,000 miles) on it and have already had the axles aligned once (last fall)

Is this a common problem with these size of trailers that they require constant alignment corrections?

Setting up an appointment for another axle alignment next week before we head south.

Can’t answer your question. But I see you are pulling with a f350. I’m getting ready to purchase a 2021 3761fl weight is just over 14k. What’s the weight of your rig and how does the 350 handle it it your a single or dual wheel

Dry weight is also 14K
GVWR is 16.9K
and Hitch weight is 2980
Have air bags on the rear truck for the chucking and little sag without.

The F350 pulls with no problem, single axle.

Just hurts when you have to stop often and re-fuel.

Lol on fuel. But if we worried about fuel we would be pulling a camper. Thanks for the info. Some have been telling me a duly would be needed. I didn’t think so. That’s why I’m asking owners who pull with a 350

F350 drw

I am pulling a 3871RL with a 17 F350 DRW diesel. The SRW rear axle rating and load capacity is the problem with a SRW F350. My son 19 F350 cclb has a 11500 lb GVWR and a rear axle gawr of 7250 lbs with 3200 lbs load capacity. My F350 DRW has a 14000 lb GVWR, 9900 lb rear axle gawr and 5585 lbs load capacity. That's what you need to know before towing with a SRW F350. I went from a SRW Ram Mega Cab 3500 diesel SRW to my F350 DRW diesel. The stability difference was amazing on the F350

For the money you`ll spend on alignments and tires you could have put 7000 lb axles under it and forget about the issues. Easy enough to do your self and delivered to your house.

I never had a issue on my last 41 foot 13500 lb fifth wheel. My 2022 Montana 3781RL doesn't seem to have any issues. I do have the gladiator axles. Have you weighed your trailer to check your axle load? Did you also check bearings and axle mounts to make sure nothing is loose or worn?

We pull a 2021 3761FL with a 2019 F350 DRW with air bags and Companion 25k hitch. We're getting about 8.6 mpg and no issues with pulling the RV. In January I installed a 45 gal aux tank in the bed so we total about 90 gallons of fuel on board. No complaints, sometimes I forget the RV is back there!

Why did you add air bags? My 3781FL on my 17 F350 DRW has 3800 lbs of pin weight. Really no issues handling the weight. It does bounce a little harder then my old fifth wheel that had 2700 lbs pin weight.

The ride is not as jarring on rough roads, and it picked up the rear of the truck an inch to level it out. But mainly the ride is better.

Thousands of miles...

We have towed our 2017 40.5' 3811MS with our 2019 F350 SRW Crew Cab Long Bed 4WD 6.7 Diesel for thousands of miles with no issues. The Montana is about 17K loaded. Last summer, we did a 5500-mile trip - only issue was a cracked wheel with slow air leak - probably the result of a pothole. It rode mostly level before I put a dual steering stabilizer and 1.5" leveling kit on the front of the truck. Now, it rides a little nose high - but the wheel doesn't shake like crazy when you hit a pothole or significant bump.
