Proud new owners of a 3793RD. I see that the water line to the refrigerator runs outside to get to the slide. I assume that the valves need to be closed and that line drained in below freezing weather. We are full timers and spend November and December in Ohio for the holidays with our Grandkids. Last year saw -14 degrees in December. Anyone else with any experience with this water line freezing?

You are absolutely correct.

The line that runs outside and under the slide out is not protected in any way. You'll want to turn the valve off under your kitchen sink. You should have a low point drain under the trailer for that line only. Yes, I finally discovered that low point drain on mine after owning it for 4 years! It just never "clicked" in my head that was a low point drain, specific for the refrigerator line. Look for it. It will be under your kitchen sink area. You'll have to crawl around.

So after draining that line, make sure that valve is turned off. You may also want to disconnect the water lines at that second valve (probably inside a cabinet near your refrigerator) to help drain better, or disconnect it at the back of the refrigerator so the line won't create a vacuum and not drain.

The refrigerator itself has a heater built into the water line to keep it from freezing. But that does nothing for the water line running outside the refrigerator.

Bottom line, yes ...... drain the water from the refrigerator line and shut the valve off.
