Refrigerator power
We have a Montana legacy 2019/ 20th anniversary 42 foot 3931. We bought this unit from a dealer and are getting ready for our first big trip and realized we’re not sure what the refrigerator runs on when we are not plugged the shore power. The refrigerator looks like a residential one. Does anybody know if it is propane?

If your rig has a residential reefer it should also have an inverter located in the battery compartment to power the reefer when not on shore power.

No it doesn't run on LP. 120 volt only. Shore power or inverted battery power. Note it won't last long on inverted battery. Mostly used for traveling to your destination.

Usually (but not always apparently) the last "one" in your model number "3931" indicates a residential fridge. Mine is a "3791RD" and I was told by the dealer and Keystone that the "1" indicated residential fridge. A "3790RD" is the same trailer with an RV style propane fridge.
All that being said, look for an inverter. Mine is on the ceiling in the basement. Since yours is also a 2019 20th anniversary model, it may be the same or at least similar.

Thank you
Thank you for your replies. We feel a little more confident we’re not gonna lose something because we didn’t know what we were doing. We will leave the inverter switch on, so we don’t forget that. Thanks again.

You also might check the size of your batteries that the dealer installed. If they are only Group 24 batteries, you might be ahead by replacing them with a much larger size or even golf cart batteries.

I agree with Bob & Becky. Go for a true deep cycle battery. Although when traveling, our truck has always been able to keep the battery fully charged even with the inverter on.
