Omaha Parks
We plan to stop in Omaha in July. We would like to stay a couple of days to see the Zoo. Any recommendations on RV Parks.

Best park around is about 30 miles south on I-80. It is Mahoney Nebraska State Park. Lots to do just arount there. SAC Aerospace museum, Wildlife safari, water parks, and etc. Easy access back to Omaha. Don't miss the state museum on the University of Nebraska campus in Lincoln.

If you can't get to Mahoney on Tuesday or Wed. it will probably be full. I agree it is the nicest and also the busiest. Others close by are Two Rivers State Park And Louisville State Park. Also in Bellevue there is Hayworth Park--City run and very nice. In Council Bluffs, Iowa there is Manawa State Park. (Not far from Camping world and about 5 miles from the Zoo). There is a KOA park at Gretna along I-80 just north of Mahiney and at Greenwood there is a Good Sam Park--can't remember the name but boylanag just stayed there several weeks ago. Let us know when you will be here in Omaha and maybe we can meet up.

We stayed in Greenwood, NE at Pine Grove RV Park, a Good Sam park. It was a nice park. Hopefully you will take Jan up on her invite because, besides being a great person, she is a great tour guide for this entire area of the nation! We had a ball at the zoo!

We were able to make reservations at Mahoney State Park for the 16, 17, & 18th of July.
Thanks everyone for the help.

That is great. I am glad they had reservation spots.--they don't always have them on weekends. What site are you at--maybe we can come out and meet you when you aren't seeing the sights. You will love that park. It is my favorite. The lodge has a good resturant too.

Ron and Rose-- When you're in Omaha give us a jingle also! We'dlove to meet you and if you were around for about another week or so you could convoy with jkelpe and us up to the Great Lakes Rally also! I think we plan on leaving around the 25 of July or so. We're in Ohio at the moment with our nieces who are graduating from high school and college. You've picked a good spot to camp in the Omaha area. Besides being a great State Park with a lot to do, as others have said, there are so many things to see around the Park and in Omaha and Lincoln. If you are coming down I-80 be sure to stop at Kearney and tour the Arch and if you have time head down to Minden and check out Pioneer Village also. The Village alone will take you a full day. Take care and have a great trip see you in mid-July or late July in Michigan!
