3295 fireplace

I would like to install a fireplace in our 3295 and wonder if anyone knows the size to order for a Dimplex. Do you get much heat out of them?

Hi Kelly,

Wrenchtraveller just put one in his 2955RL and did quite a nice job with some additional touches. He'll probably jump in on this one or you can Private Message (PM) him for details. I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out.

I would have put out the slides out in order to get to the manual on ours. Best I remember it is 5500 BTU. As far as heat....yes it does a very good job of keeping the inside nice and cozy even if the outside temp dips into the low 40's or upper 30's. We prefer sleeping with the fireplace on at night as I tend to wake up every time the furnace comes on.

Hi Kelly,
Our rig came with a heater in it so I can't help you with the specific info. If you can't find it I'll go out and try to find the paperwork. But several folks here on the MOC have installed after market heaters. Check the forum for any topics relating to your question. I think someone even posted a series of pictures.

Good luck,

HamRad

Thanks Brad, The model I put in my 2955RL is a Dimplex Fireplace Insert model DF12309.

It works great has two settings 750 watts and 1500 watts or you can just have the fireplace with no heat.Other people on this Forum have also used this model. Dimplex has a patent on their very realistic flame and we get lot's of compliments on how real it looks. The flash from the camera hides the real affect but it will make you stare into the flames just like a real fire and get you lost in your thoughts.

Here are some pics of the project.

Hi Kelly, we installed a classic flame 23EF005GRA into our 2955RL. Got it at Westfurnishings.com with free shipping and no tax. Still on sale as of today. Nice glass front, realistic logs and flames and decent heat output. Just plug in and turn it on. (Well, sort of, after a few cabinet modifications...)
