Graphics residue removal
Any suggestions for graphic sticky residue removal? Besides the hot air gun what chemicals can or cannot be used? I tried goop off but it did not work at all. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Think I used Xylene. Made "goober balls" but it came off cleanly. Ugly part of the job.

I have been using GooGone products. The heat gun only takes off the decals for me. I haven't had any luck using the heat gun on the left over glue. Anyway, purchase the thick GooGone that is for caulk removal. Everyone doesn't have it. I don't recall if I purchased mine from Lowe's or my local ACE hardware store. Apply a generous amount of it on the glue, about a 1 foot square area and let sit for about a minute. Get GooGone wipes and use those to wipe it off. After taking off the decals on the right side of our 3400 this month I can tell you that this is a very easy method. If you were close to Ft. Myers I would give you my GooGone since I am done with it (at least for the next 3 or 4 years until the decals on my new Monte start peeling).

Lacquer thinner will do fine and not hurt the finish. Body shops use a ton of it for everything, just don't use it on fresh paint lol lol.... Goo Gone should also work great. I didn't know they sold it in larger containers. I'm used to getting it at the Dollar Stores lol lol lol. But I use a lot of it too for getting the gummy residue off store stickers...

Thank you everyone for your help. Looks like I will start with thinner and then goo gone. If they don't work then the other suggestions. I appreciate all the different suggestions

Thinner is fine just keep it away from your white metal moldings. It can soften the paint enough that when you rub on the glass next to the metal the paint will come off.
