Low kitchen faucet pressure and fix

for the last 4 days the kitchen sink faucet got slower and slower. Yesterday when I shut it off I noticed that the water kept running for a second or two like it was bleeding down pressure. That told me that the blockage was between the faucet and the spray head. I took the hose off the back of the sprayer checked the pressure out of the hose. It took me ten minutes to clean up that mess, there was PLENTY of pressure and volume at the hose end! So I looked inside the end of the sprayer handle and there was what appeared to be a small o-ring stuck in the little white poppet just inside the handle. I got some tweezers and worked the o-ring out as it was in pretty tight. I then tried the faucet again after I hooked the hose back up and it works fine. I also removed the poppet as it did not appear to do anything except restrict the flow. Now I have to be careful when rinsing plates as it can splatter all over the kitchen.

Those flow restrictors can frequently be a source of problems. In most of the parks we stay in the flow restrictor is somewhere back at the source. Where we stay the pressure is either too low or way too high.

I wonder if that poppet is suppose to keep a good pressure in the line so that when the bathroom faucet is turned on you still have good pressure there? I know when two faucets are turned on in my rv you lose some pressure.

Bill, I think they are all for water flow restriction. I would have pulled the poppet out when I originally yanked all the rest of them in the rig right after I bought it but got side tracked at the time to something else (as usual) and never had a real problem with it until the o-ring came loose and got stuck in the poppet. Even if we had a 3/4 or one inch supply to the rig the half inch is actually more like a 1/4 inch through the PEX hose and fittings. So I guess there is a limit to flow through all of it. We are happy with the flow through all the faucets in the rig now and we have pretty good pressure here also (if we ever get to connect to city water again when it isn't freezing)
