Camp Verde, AZ
We are here at Distant Drums RV Park for the month of April. We have a nice site on the end with no one across from us so we have a beautiful view of the mountains. Sites are back ins and tight but we are on cement. We haven't been on cement for a long time and have been amazed at how solid we are. There is a lot to do in the area and we plan on riding the train later this month. I am glad we are close to Phoenix so I can spend some time with my 3 nephews. My brother passed on yesterday. He had been in an Alzheimer home for some time so it was not a surprise. He hasn't known me for several years. It is like loosing him twice.
Happy trails........................

Sue,
We are sorry to hear of the loss of your brother.
Camp Verde and Distant Drums is a nice little place. It is a very clean park. We were right across from the swimming pool so was a bit noisy. Be sure and take the time to visit the National Monuments and parks in the area. Also Jerome is a nice little tourist stop. If you get the chance be sure and go into Prescott too.
Enjoy your visit to Camp Verde.

Just getting back on after an abscence.. so sorry to hear of your loss. It was a blessing in his case, but still a loss. Remember the good times and tell those nephews all the funny stories about growing up. Take care of yourself...

Sue - so sorry to hear about your brother. It is nice that you can be there for your nephews.
Just posted on another thread that we were in Camp Verde about three years ago. It's a nice park and a great base from which to see all the attractions in the surrounding area - historical, archaeological, and just plain scenic. Enjoy.

I'm really sorry to hear about your brother, Sue.
We stayed at Distant Drums for two months last year. We originally planned one month there but enjoyed the area so much we extended another month. Just don't spend too much time in the casino across the highway! And enjoy Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon and all the other places around there. Don't forget to go up to Winslow and stand on the corner. And I can give you a terrific backroad drive to Williams from Jerome, if you want. Also, the drive from Jerome to Prescott is beautiful as are all the drives going east up into the mountains. I'd like to go back to that area.
