I think the sunken effect is pretty neat but understand the safety issue. But I'm with you - if I can manage to keep from falling down that first step and out the door, I could live with the step down to the kitchen. At least it wouldn't be as far to fall. Oh well, we love the trailer and the washer/dryer option will come in handy one day.

One other thing - we took a short trip (50 miles) to Destin Florida and stayed at Henderson Beach State Park. It got a little cool, so we ran the fireplace while we watched a movie. It got so hot in the small compartment where the DVD player was it shut down (froze up).
Has anyone removed the fireplace and insulated the underside of the cabinet to keep it cooler? Would this be a problem as far as air flow?
I know this is the wrong forum to ask and a little off the subject and I apologize, but just wanted some other 3650 opinions while you were reading this.

Curt, you might want to start a new topic with that question. I think it's an excellent question but don't have a clue, myself. A new topic would catch the eye of those with the fireplace that are not interested in reading about the 3650RK. Just a suggestion.

I have the fireplace in my 3400RL and have noticed that if I leave the built in heater on at the hottest setting for any length of time, the bottom of the tv area does seem to get pretty warm. My dvd player is ontop of the tv, but have not had any trouble with the temps of the tv. I found a little trick that works for me, if it is cool enough to want the heater of the fireplace on, I usually turn the furnace on set the temp to 68 or so and let it run 1 full cycle. Once the 68 degree mark is hit (or whatever temp you set it at) the furnace will shut off. I then go and turn the furnace to off and turn on the heater for the fireplace. By having the entire coach warmer to start I do not have to run the fireplace heater so hot to warm the living room. I hope this makes a little sense. Just a trick I have found that helps.
