Landing Gear Pop - Please Help

I really cant catch a break... I finally got my slide-outs fixed (thanks to everyone on this forum), but while I was trying to raise the landing gear today, I heard a pop and now the motor swivels around instead of staying put and the extension bar raising/lowering the landing gear. Please see the video here: https://youtu.be/dkoFvA6x6XE

Anyone have any idea what's broken/what I need to replace?? ...or how I should go about troubleshooting

I'm extremely overwhelmed right now. I'm supposed to move out of my house and start RV living in 4 days and keep having problem after problem. Any help would be extremely appreciated!

I found this video on YouTube that seems to be a similar issue: https://youtu.be/FPqGDThLl0k, so now I'm guessing it might be the gearbox. Would love to hear if I'm on the right track here though...

Could you post the year and model of your Montana? It would help us look up information to help. You would get the most immediate help by contacting Lippert directly. They are very helpful and have a lot of good online resources. The last rig we had without Level Up was a 2010 Big Sky and my memory is failing me on that system. I do know there is some movement in that system.

This should be the manual for your legs, I believe.

It looks like your gear box not your motor that is spinning. On mine, which is an older model, like Rames14 said there is movement in the gear box but I don't remember how much. Is the motor turning the connecting rod?

Yea I'm not sure if you saw this video I added: https://youtu.be/dkoFvA6x6XE, but motor is turning the connecting rod (but the motor is rotating with it).

One thing I also just realized is that after the gearbox broke, I wasn't able to manually extend or retract the landing gear either, so I wonder if this says anything about the issue.

Also the trailer is a 2007 montana mountaineer edition 342pht

In your video the motor is not running you are just moving the connecting rod by virtue of it being attached to the gear box which you are manually rotating. What happens when the motor is running? When you tried the manual method were you able to turn the crank or was it froze/locked up. The time I had to help a fellow camper manually lower his landing legs it took many cranks to get them lowered. Guess we just couldn't come close to matching the speed of the electric motor.

It's possible that your gearbox is complete seized which would prevent you from moving the legs manually. But, the motor needs to spin rapidly to get even a little movement on your landing gear. Try removing just the gear box and then reassemble the arms together. Then try and lower the landing gear. Use a powerd drill if you can. If that doesn't work, you probably have a broken worm gear in the top of the jack tube which created enough force to break the tabs on your gearbox. If you can use the landing gear, it's just the gearbox itself. Good luck.

When you replace the gear box, get a metal bodied one & not a plastic one.
