space under the stove

after two years of ownership, i was currious and removed the wall panel from under the propane oven/stove. there is a rather large storage area there ... i was wondering is there any reason why Keystone choose not to utilize this space???
DG already has plans on what to store there as soon as i constuct a door to cover it ...

Cost would be my guess. Drawers and fronts cost money. Extra storage also adds to carrying capacity. The more room You have, the more You carry, the more capacity is needed.
