Dave,
Ask your dealer if they could do an exterior detail before you pick up the coach. They will charge of course!!! My dealership washed the entire outside and got it ready for my inspection during the PDI. Or better yet see if you can get the first wash/wax/buff as part of your deal, get the dealer to include in the purchase agreement. =)

This is a good point, Dave. I talked to Rich about this. My brain was out in left field (did it ever come in form there?). It's not the mfr's job to prep the coach. I will check with the dealer. I doubt there would be too much problem if I asked. Should I specify a certain type of wax? I know Rich and Helen cautioned me to stay away from petroleum-based wax on the decals.

The Dri Wash sounds like the easy care I need form there.

Dave,
You could even go as far as purchase your own wax and bring it to them. There are a few good marine grade waxes out there, maybe stop by a local boat shop in your area and see what they offer. I have waxed the decals on my boat now since 1994, the boat was bought brand new and to this day I have never had a decal problem on it.

I will try the dry wash if the PolGlow does not work out. Hope to do it soon.
Tom, I don't know about the other body parts you mentioned but I don't agree with you on the brain. You seem pretty sharp to me.

Take care, Don.

Montana Sky, many RV parks know of people who wash and wax rv's for a fee. You might check in the office of your favorite park for a recommendation. That's how we got ours done. Most likely the price will be better than a dealer and they'll come to your place to do it. I was charged $3/foot plus $5/slide. And I added a tip. The guy worked hard and did a good job.

Thanks Don, I needed that even though my mind is not what it was a few years ago. In 93 I graduated from night school with the University of Maryland, Summa Cum Laude, in Nuclear Science. Now I doubt I could pass a freshman exam. I seem to get things mixed up more and more. But thanks for the comments.

Sounds like you ended up with a govt job, Tom. Or at least a govt contractor position?

Steve,
I sure do like the sounds of having someone else doing the waxing for me. Thanks for the idea, will check in with my park and dealership to see who they recommend. Dave/

dsprk,

Just worked at some Nuclear Plants. But I did retire from the military almost 30 years ago.

Regarding Poli-Glow - I have a 2005 Monty and wondered what wax to use. The poli-glow sounds wonderful, but was unsure whether it is intended for newer rv's, so I contacted the mfg. His reply is below FYI:

"POLI GLOW IS A RESTORATION PRODUCT NOT A MAINTENANCE PRODUCT. WHEN THE FINISH IS FADED, DULL, OR OXIDIZED IS THE TIME FOR POLI GLOW.

THANK YOU.

POLI GLOW PRODUCTS "

Appears that most of you are using Protect All and 303.

Helen,

Thought I'd let you know that I contacted Smokey a couple months ago and he sent me a couple samples. I finally had a chance to use it this weekend. I was in the campground cleaning some bugs off the nose cone and they just came right off. Now of course I'd hand waxed the whole Monty a while back but this was pretty darned slick. I had two other people in the campground come up and ask me what I was using.

This is GREAT stuff, expensive but very good.

For any of you wanting information on the great Dry Wash products you can contact our friend Smokey at
ridgesafe@aol.com or his toll free number 866-899-5167.

He also gives demos all across the country. I know he plans on being at the Escapades in Chico this year.
