HELP!

After our last trip and getting hammered to death on I20 in LA and I40 in OK, I decided to put shocks on our 31rld TT. I ordered the Monroe retrofit kit & shocks thinking it would be fairly simple. (HAH!)

Because the springs are on top of the axles, I decided to mount the shock plates below the axles with long bolts instead of mounting the shock plates above the springs so I could get shocks with a longer travel. Whoopie, now I can mount the shocks outboard and I won't have to cut into the belly pan-NOT.

Everything was going smoothly until I got under the wheel by the LR slide out. The slide mechanism passes by the outside of the frame right where I wanted to mount the shock for that wheel so now I need to know how Keystone mounted shocks on the 5th wheels or on any TT's that have them. Are they mounted on the inside of the frame? If so, how did Keystone handle running the shocks through the belly pan? Hopefully they did something besides just cutting a hole in the pan.

I appreciate any feedback..................Allan

ARJ,
Just guessing here but my thought is that Keystone did exactly what you feared..... simply cut a hole in the pan. Never known them to do anything else!

Good luck.
