Metal Detector Information Needed

I am seriously considering buying a metal detector and would really appreciate any information about what to look for in the way of features to make it most useable.
Of course any other guidelines such as make, model, pricing or sources from which to buy would also be very welcome.

Hey Larry,
I have had several metal detectors over the years. Currently we have Minelab detectors. Very complicated but once you figure them out they are very effective. Depending what you are after will determine the brand and model best suited for your interest. Go to this web site http://www.kellycodetectors.com They sell all brands and if you tell them what you want to detect they will offer suggestions. At least you will have a better idea of what you want to buy and you can shop around for that brand and model. Hope this helps and good luck with your detecting.
