Brad, you are a hoot! Did you come out OK on that? I assume you put gas in? Was it one of those green pump handles? I almost did that in Lawrence Kansas.

Sounds like a Mobel station with the green handle, Just like Jonny out of step, Mobel must think they are in step and everybody else is out of step with there handle colors.

Just recently I pulled into one of those "green" handle 87 octane pumps. Fortunately I caught the octane rating and started looking around. Then I noticed the diesel pump was by itself over in a corner.
That's small towns for you!

Seems I recall all BP gas pump nozzle handles being green. Fortunately, there are none around here.

Where are you purchasing the fuel filter for your Duramax? Dennis

If you want an oem filter, the only place I have found them is at a dealer...$30. The auto parts stores have them, but not oem.
Those of us in the habit of looking for green handles and thinking "diesel" need to break that habit!

I stopped at a place today that had a yellow handle on one side of the pump and a gree on the other side. I went in and asked what the difference was. He replied, "None."
I also saw a pump that said 40 Cetane Minimum. I read it as Octane and had to do a double look. Then the Cetane stood out.
Have to be careful - times are changing.

Found a service note from Dodge that the intank fuel level sensor can (read will) go out of calibration, I ran out of fuel while showing just over 1/4 tank. Since then I fill up at 1/2 or higher. Noticed that at 1/2 I am putting in 27 gallons, we have a 35 gallon tank. It's sad Wayne that the centane is down to 40, my truck is designed to run on 50+, no such animal anymore.

This is the first time I can say I'm glad I'm color blind. I don't look for the color of handle, I look for the word DIESEL. This is one of my worst nightmares - along with dropping the trailer on the truck - which I almost did earlier this year. The third fear, hitting the cab, got solved with my new long bed 3500.
Did run out when the truck was new - saw the fuel station coming home from the first MOC rally. Accidentally got onto the toll road and didn't make the next exit. Out came the manual one how to start up a diesel that ran out of fuel.
