I won't probably ever own a Toyota (never have), but that is not really too much of an issue as I see it. Ever seen those GM trucks in the 70's or 80's where when the hood hinges got stiff, the hood folded in the middle. I had a 03 Chevy that had to have the tail gate support cables replaced on a recall. Some had apparently rusted badly, allowing someone to hit the ground. I don't think GM addressed the cable issue correctly though, as the ends on my 04 GMC are rusted. What good is a stainless cable if the ends rust off. Great engineering huh?
