CG near The Villages, Florida

DW and I are planning a trip to Florida some time this winter to visit my sister who resides in The Villages, Florida. We are seeking an rv park or resort in the area. We hane spotted some near Ocala. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

IMO - Blue Parrot is not a campsite I would want to stay at. Very old, small tight spaces and mostly park models. There are others campground near Ocalla or in Umatilla "Olde Mill Stream" or in Eustis "Southern Palms".

Steve..You are correct. It is older and has limited sits for campers of our size. We have been there while visiting friends for short periods. You would need to communicate clearly the size of your Montana and we would not recommend long stays.

We're workamping at Thousand Palms RV Resort between Inverness and Lake Panasoffkee, about 15 miles from The Villages. We have nice large sites here with lots of trees-palms and live oaks. We really like Thousand Palms and the people here. I would highly recommend this park!

I would rather camp at a Walmart than The Blue Parrot.I have 5 years of long timing and 4 years of snow birding which involved many campgrounds and this place is at the top of my list never go back to.
I would recomend this place but you might have to make reservations ahead

There are quite a few spots available now. When are you looking for availability?

Now the Blue Parrot is not high on our go back to list but we stayed there 3 days a couple of years ago and had a good stay. It is older and has some tight turns but we shoe horned in and out with no problem.. What did we miss in the negative area??? Oh... We thought it was over priced for what we got and that is the main reason we will not go back...

Was just looking at options Dennis. We like where we are at right now, but looking at leaving maybe Jan. or Feb. Circumstances back home right now are dictating how far away we get from our former home.
