Bedroom escape window upgrade

Our original window had no screen, so I bought a new same-sized window with a sliding screen, and sliding half-window so our bedroom window would ventilate without letting bugs in.

We were fortunate, Ozz...ours came with a screen. What was Keystone thinking when it produced an rv with a window which opened and did not have a screen???? Well, the good news is they have corrected the problem and you have come up with a fix for the previous error. Good show, Ozz!

Ours has a screen also and it is like the kind of a window you put a stick in it to hold it open, but they made a aluminum stick instead conected to it, but if a gust of wind comes up and under, it pops it out of the holder and then the ladder has to come out on the outside to put it back in the holder slot. it does have 1 good feature, in the rain it does not come in it rolls off the window.
I dont ever wish to try and get out that window in a emergency, it being so small and the drop is farther than I or my wife realy want to drop, but I guess if there is fire you will jump. Ozz is your window still rated for an escape or emergency window or is it just a window. it sure looks great.

Dang! I figured some smart person would ask that... CRS, I think.. it is still an escape, but do not remember, let me ask the boss..
She thinks it is, and I now remember we only slid the old outside window off, and the new one on, the frame is what un-hooks and pushes out. I am like you, wouldn't want to, but if the fire is coming up the stairs, we would stuff each other out the window.

I seem to remember there being a discussion about different types of windows. If you have the double pane windows they do not put a screen on the bedroom escape window. We have an older model and only the single pane so we have the screen on ours.

I'm with you guys.... I don't want to EVER have to use that particular window! Of course
I'll have to push.... Er I mean ... Help Mary Kay thru first as if I went first I'd block the window!

Dennis, this replacement window is a Double Pane, I think you are right, the originals were like that, but maybe now they went to an insulated escape.
Our 'Office' window was a non-ventilated double pane, I also switched it out to a slider with screen.
