Pensacola, Florida Area
Does anyone know of a decent campground in the panhandle of Florida? We are planning on spending the winter somewhere near the Pensacola area and are looking for an extended stay campground with monthly rates. Any suggestions are welcome.

You have Anchors Aweigh and Gulf Breeze in the Foley Al area just a few miles west of Pensacola. Gulf Breeze even has indoor pool but not sure they may be booked already.

Ron, the Army has a nice park at Destin and I stayed last winter on Eglin AFB. I would recommend either, although we had reservations at Destin and felt we could not maneuver our 3400 very well in their small spaces. Pensacola Naval is a nice park also. You need to get the MWR campground book and check out the mil bases.........There is another mil park, I think it is Hurburlt fiels.....

ron there is a new campground in pensacola right off of i-10 at exit 7. the name is pensacola rv park, and the number is 850-944-1734. seems to be a nice place. if you go to campgroundreviews.com, click on florida, then pensacola you will find several parks with web sites.dave.

I noticed that the one campground at Emerald Isle charged for electricity. Is this the standard for campgrounds in Florida?
I'm a newbie Montana rver.

What is the requirements for using the military CG's? Do you have to be retired from the service, or have been in the service before? Never heard of these CG's before.
Thanks

We have used the Family Campgrounds at several thru out the USA. I'm retired and only know for sure Retired Military with a ID can use Family Camp grounds. But to get info on who are Authorized just Google Military Camp Grounds and call them they can and will know the correct answer. We have stayed at some very nice Family Campgrounds in Texas, Arizona and Montana. GBY....

You must be able to get on base and to do that you must have a Military ID card, either retired or active duty. DOD civilians with ID cards are also welcome.
Just another one of our bennies for serving our time in uniform.....I mention it cause I never know who is retired and who isn't. Corp of Engineer parks are sometimes nice also, we have stayed at several of them also.
