Skidaway state park is a good campground to stay at,I stayed there 2 years ago for a week and did the tours in Savanna.Parked my truck at the visitor center while doing the tours.

We stayed at Hardeeville RV Park in SC. It is a no frills rv park, but that is what I have the rv for. It is a Passport America park so the price was right. It is 9 miles from Savanna. Lots of trees, but if you want satellite he does have some out in the open.

Again, it's just a place to stop for touring. It is not a "destination" park.

We were disappointed with Paula Deen's. We went for the lunch menu. It was good, but I guess I just expected a little more. Next time we'll try they evning buffet. You will need to get there very early in the morning. We got there 30 minutes before reservations were being taken and we were back in the line by about 75 people. Once they started the reservations it went fast. I dropped DW off and then drove a few blocks and found a parking spot on the street.

Good luck.

We stayed at Savannah Oaks in 2008. The park was quiet since it is a few miles off the interstate. Shaded sites with lots of room. The drive into Savannah was on Interstate 96 and 16 and was no problem. Good parking at the visitors center. We did not eat at Paula Deans but at a local seafood restaurant on the Ogeechee River near the park--the food was very good. Something weird about Savannah Oaks, the 50 AMP connector on the post was mounted upside down so my surge protector stuck up in the air!--I used some rope to tie it to the post. We drove out to Tybee Island and it was really nice--in the fall no one was there.
