It's so easy to install, I think that even I could do it!
It's water proof, no glue, no nails, can replace one if
you need to......amazing! And it looks beautiful!

Check it out carefully. While watching the video, the statement was made that any errors could be corrected by simply removing the plank and reinstalling it. That says to me the glue may not hold permanently.

Just my opinion!

Thats true, but that was right after they were conected, maybe after a while they might cure and not be removable as shown. I guess a call to the manufacture with that question might be a good idea.

In viewing the installation video with this product there IS no glue. It uses adhesive that the product adheres to another piece of flooring and NOT the subfloor, similar to some tongue and groove products that are not glued. I expect that the adhesive sets over time to prevent popping off.

My concern with this product is the fact there IS no gluing to the subfloor. When installed in a non-moving, solid, inflexible home, not using a glued down floor (there are other home flooring products like this) should not be a problem. The adhesion is to another piece of this type of flooring and not any part of the exising subfloor.

On the other hand, if this product that is not glued down and is used in a very mobile, temperature changing, bouncing, and flexing floor like a trailer, it might pop loose somehow and you might come into your rig and see a pile of vinyl planks. Maybe with some molding on the edges this might help. I still suspect the adhesion "sets" over time to help keep the flooring together.

IMO, I would prefer something that gets fastened down in a permanent manner to reduce the chances of coming loose. But, to emphasize, this is only my opinion.

I was thinking the same as Art. The only thing is most laminate floors are free floating too. The flexing floor of the fiver is what I would be concerned about. If you fasten the edges to tight along the walls,it may pull the planks apart. Chances are it would work, but I would call the manufacture first. Another thing is can it be glued up the stair riser?

This comes from the installation guide
(that's not shown being done in the video) :

"When each plank is installed a hand roller with direct pressure to the seams must be used!
After completion a 100 lbs roller should be used across all seams."

Also this from the Subfloor Requirements :

"All subfloors must be sound, solid and have little flexibility."

I doubt that the planks would pop up if they were properly installed and
if you did need to replace one later, you have to use a heat gun and pull hard.

The flexibility of the subfloor of our Montanas might not be good for this, although
I would hope that our floors wouldn't "flex" enough to effect this product.

I'm waiting on a call back from someone at the manufacturer about this product in our
Montanas (Which is probably what I should have checked out before posting this!) lol

Okay,
Just talked to company rep
and this product is excellant
for trailers and motor homes!
The adhesive "marries up"
after about 10 minutes.
This is meant just for floors,
so no stair rises.

we looked at this flooring last summer, they say ok for basements we didnt use in basement due to nothing under the planks and the fear of mold growing from the moisture that is there no matter what you use.

Very good investigating, Wifeofdano!. Since the product uses no glue that's why it can't be used for stair rises. I wonder if a good vinyl flooring glue would solve the problem. If someone decides to use flooring like this throughout the rig, having carpet only on the stairs might look funny. It's certainly a viable option for our kitchen, and bathroom areas or other small areas.

If they claim this product is excellent for trailers and motor homes, I'd like to know what they regard as a flexible floor, since they recommend "All subfloors must be sound, solid and have little flexibility."? What's left?

I like jsmitfl's comparison of laminate flooring, but would like to think that laminate has an advantage of being thicker and heavier to reduce impact from flexing if used as a floating (unglued) floor.

I just want to consider all the ramifications. Jumping on a product without thinking it through could get someone to have some bad experiences. And we don't want that.

Motor homes have more solid flooring than 5ers or TTs, but it should still be okay.
