Yes that's why I sold the HEMI 2500 in preparation for a 1-Ton Diesel (I know gas couldn't pull it so wasn't worth keeping for right now... time to save)

Others have dabbed a small amount of silicone on the back of the nuts to stop them from backing off. I haven't done anything to mine yet ( since Feb) when we picked ours up, but I did have 1 come loose while driving down roadway. This will be one of my winterization projects at end of the season. Thanks to brother following me,he noticed it and we pulled right over and fixed it without any damages.

I think my favorite upgrade is a plug in for my generator on the front of my camper. I have a 10 foot cord so I can leave my generator plugged in and ready to use anytime.

just start with having 2 batteries and build from there. take your time, everything that you need is right there in your new trailer. You will discover what you need as time goes on.

you will need misc. hoses and connectors.

I have a 2017 TT so I have most of the basics (hoses, connections) but considering the upgrade and investment I want to make sure I start my must haves and wish list so I can plan accordingly.

I’m actually switching from mascerator to sewage hose so any recommendations on that are welcome too. The waste master looks like it’s the best with cam lock and smooth lining but I’m not a fan of having to modify(cut) the pipe end.

Best hose, length, support thoughts.

We added a Valterra valve to the end of the sewer drain. If one of your tank drains leaks, this will catch it. Otherwise, when you open the end cap to attach the dumping hose you might get a surprise. It happened to us on a previous (SOB) trailer.



The Valterra valve is installed very easily by removing the end cap, screwing it on, and screwing the end cap onto it. We installed it as insurance. They are not very expensive.


Some other stuff we installed were a handle on the screen door on the inside to shut it and a combination lock on the door. This way you don't have to bring your keys with you all the time.

When you put the handle in, it rubs on the lock and damages the finish. I attached a little stick on protector to the lock in just the right place, which works great. These are things you buy to put on kitchen cabinet doors at home so there is a little cushion between the door and the frame.

The handle you grab on to go up the steps which is attached to the trailer. You fold it over so it does not stick out when you go down the road. It touches the lock as you travel.

Been full timing for 15 years and never had surge protector. Maybe we were just lucky though a few claim they are more a bother than anything. I suppose nothing would be lost by having one but, as I said, we did not and camped all over the Country.

Appreciated the humor (sarcasm?) Just my opinion and considering some of the ills that have befallen us in 15 years, doubt we were just lucky! So many things to consider when RV'ing and having surge protector one of them. We decided not to and do not regret it. Only this summer talked to man who had one and was complaining about trouble it gave him with some camp readings that suggested he not use that particular "post." Others have used it but maybe they, too, were lucky. Never spend money on P.Ticket nor Vegas!

We have an EMS but have yet to find a bad power pedestal so you are probably not taking that big of a risk.
