Do I need a bigger truck?

I bought a 2955 in June with a dry weight of 9680 pounds and a hitch weight of about 2200 pounds. My ford 250 psd can pull a total of 20000 pounds so i'm ok there but the hitch weight bothers me. Even though its a 4x4 it squats a good bit when I hook up. Considering most of the weight of the bedroom and the storage is on the hitch I would think total hitch weight would be closer to 3000 pounds. I tried to weight truck and trailer seperately at a Flying J but all it would weight was the total of both. I did weight the truck alone and it weighed 7440 lbs with a GVW of 8800 lbs. Should I consider going up to a one ton dually.
