We have been full timing for over six years in a 40 foot Montana 3661RL and have not had a major issue that I couldn't fix (knock on wood!). I've been very pleased with our 3661RL. We have decided to down size to a 25-30 foot trailer and stay with a Montana or Keystone unit. I think I'm out of luck finding a Montana in this length range though. My question is, what would you recommend for a full timing camper, a couple of slide outs with a not many whistle and bells? Ive seen a couple of "Lites" and "Ultra-lites" and they concern me with workmanship and material quality for full timing demands. Camping World recommended Outback or a Cougar..thoughts? I will entertain any and all brands. Thanks

one thing to consider with "lite" trailers is lack of insulation and thinner construction. tough to keep a "lite" cool or warm in the extremes

I would stay away from anything that has lite in the name. In my opinion, light construction isn't tough enough for full time use. If you follow the forum, you'll notice far more issues with High Countries than Montanas, I velieve for that reason and the High Country is built way better than most "lite" rigs.

the only montana that small is the 35foot 3120/21. or the now obsolete 3130RE.

Alpine/Avalance make 34-35 footers

the problem is you can't find many high end 30-34 foot rigs.

If we were to down size I don't think we would go as far as you're looking, but would consider an older 2955RL at 34 or 35 feet (that was our first fifthwheel) only two slides and unit is fully usable with both slides in.

Montana made a few bumper pull models a few years back. You might be able to find one of them and get it in good shape.

Airstream also makes some relatively high quality travel trailers. They are not as inexpensive as a Montana.

Would help if you let us know why you want to downsize so we may be able to recommend a better fit.
