It probably is not worth changing. You would need to change the front end gears to.

Our 05 F-350 V-10 Ford had the 4:30 diff. It was a brute. The thing was pulling @ 22K GCWR or more and it pulled every grade we put it on. It pulled some RPM's but those big block gassers were designed to do that. It sure screamed on some of those long hard grades and a couple of times we ran out of motor.

Stay within what they were designed to do and they can't be beat.

answering thekennys question you will find the gear ratio on the tag on the door jam drivers side under"AXLE CODE" mine was D1 I think which was limited slip 3.73 the most common,had them changed to 4.30 for $2,600 dollars for front and rear axles ,not cheap but it does help big time but when you get up to 40ft 5th's it is still not enough, then it is "DIESEL TIME"
