Recommended Greater PHOENIX Area RV Park?

We plan to winter in the Greater Phoenix area (November through to March). Can anyone recommend an excellent park that is something other than a parking lot while also reasonably priced. Anywhere within 50 miles would be ideal. A tree and/or a patch of grass would be nice. I've scoured the internet and seen a few but personal recommendations from a MOC member would rate much higher than a website. Thanks in advance!

Moutard2,
We stayed at Apache Palms RV Park in Tempe a couple of times. Certainly nothing fancy but nice enough park. Very clean and secure. I'm sure they give good instruction on how to approach the park but since they installed a light rail commuter train you can enter the park only from the East. We would stay there again if the need arose. Good luck. Dennis

We have been spending winters at The Resort in Mesa which is located on the corner of Southern and Ellsworth. Lots of activities and they've been investing heavily the last 2 years on additions and improvements. Check it out here: http://www.theresortrvpark.com/

We live at Palm Creek Golf and RV Resort in Casa Grande. Not much grass here in AZ. Check it out http://www.palmcreekgolf.com/. If you want a place with activities, this is it, otherwise Mesa or Apache Junction has a multitude of parks. I have stayed at Monte Vista RV Resort and Meridian RV Park, the latter is not much more than a parking lot. There are many spots in Surprise and Buckeye. It really depends on the level of comfort and activities you want or need......Gold Canyon is a new deluxe park that is a little farther out east of town. Nice park and many amenities...It is hard to find a long term spot if you don't do it soon. Good luck in your search....I would probably use RV Park Reviews and Google Earth to check out the parks, look for all the trees. Park websites can sometimes be deceiving but worth taking a look......
