DIRECTV for both televisions

Can someone tell me if I need two leads from my directv dish to two separate receivers if I want to be able to have a remote control operate in both living room and bed rooms?

Yes you need two receivers, and a dish with dual thingys. We have the dual dish and run a cable through the window in the bedroom. Someday we will install a regular hookup in the bedroom. Right now (and we do this a lot of times) we only have the living room hooked to Direct and left the bedroom on antenna so we can have local news and weather.
Happy trails...........................

Thanks for your help. I did finally decided to give up on having the ability to watch TV on different channels, so my set up now includes the single LNB Dish for DirecTV, a single receiver box that also is looped to send the signal on to the bedroom TV, but of course I have to watch the same thing in the bedroom as in the living room. Also,I got the little triangle RF Signal repeater from Radio Shack so I could use the remote to turn off the TV from the Bedroom. That part works great.

Gojodo,
You can buy a dual LNB upgrade for around $25.00 that will enable another cable run to the bedroom TV. We use a flat cable through the bedroom window to the recevier in the bedroom.
