Suggest relocate gas line

My exterior gas line runs from the base of the passenger side propane tank along the bottom of the chassis frame to below the furnace, stove, and hot water heater and then enters the coach. Issue is the gas pipe run is below the frame and subject to road hazards. Why not install it in the lip of the frame (above the current position) to shield/protect the pipe. Both areas are well ventilated. This is how it was done on my previous SOB. Just an idea.
