3485
Since we are still thinking fulltime in the very near future, we have been checking out our favorite Montanas. Thus far we are most impressed with the 3485. Any pro or con comments from the 3485 owners out there? We love our 3000RK, but if we go fulltime we definitely want a triple slideout unit. (When the dog stretches out, we definitely need that extra slide in the living room). We are sort of looking at both the 3400 and the 3485, to go with a F450.

We have the 3485SA and really enjoy it. We travel with two dogs, one a German shepard and the other a Japanese chin. 2 cats come along too. We find we have plenty of room.
The bathroom door opening in bothers me. Other people like it. Chuck will be reversing that this week. Other than the wrong steps being put on our unit and our dealer is fixing that, we really think this was the right choice for us.

Thanks Carol, we have two cats as well that go along with the dog. We decided after 10 months of living in our 3000RK, we definitely needed something a bit bigger to handle us and the pets.

Got a 3485 and we love it. The floor plan fits us to a "T". Especially the fully enclosed bathroom and at over 300 pounds the bathroom door swinging in is not an issue. We have been full timing over 3 1/2 years and up until this past January we had an 04 2955RL. For us the 3485 is unquestionably the best choice.
If you do a lot of cooking the "L" shaped counter in the 3400RL maybe the better choice but the 3400 is a quad slide unit. We don't do a lot of cooking and the smaller counter space is not a problem. Also without the "L" shaped island the 3485 actually has more living area than the 3400 even with it's 4th slide.

You have to understand Glenn and I have "discussed" that door I am getting use to less counter space. Now I have to clean up after myself. I feel the hall to bedroom is wider than our last two models. That could be my imagination.
I fell in love with the 3400 the first time I saw it. But like Glenn said, the enclosed bathroom sold us on the 3485.

I too, am a 300lb 6'4" dainty guy. So am glad that the bathroom is not an issue. We do most of the cooking outside when we can. Will want to opt for the two door refrig. though. I wished that was standard in Tanas, but at least it is an option. I know we will trade up sooner than later, bercause Barb really loves the 3485, eventhough I would like to keep the 3000RK for at least another year. We are now on a 4 month trip to Montana and surronding areas, then back home for two months, and then off to Gulf Shores, Alabama for 4 months, where unfortunately they have a nice Montana dealer 30 minutes away. So, hopefully, I can convince Barb to wait until the end of the Alabama trip anyway.

Barb/ Bob ,we have the 3000RK ON ORDER,STOPPED AT THE DEALER and saw the new 3485sa ,since you have had the 3000 how would you compare the kitchen for storage etc.Looks like a lot more storage up front in the storage bays,we would appreciate your comments. We also looked at the 3400,lovely unit, also extra weight, lots of counterspace, but not that much more cabinetry, loved the brightness of both units.

Carol and Al, first of all we really like our 3000RK, but since we spend so much time on the road, about 10 months a year now, we decided we would like the 3485 triple slide for the extra room. We liked the fact that we could get a double frig., versus the single door, which will probably cost us some storage, but we have found lots of storage in the 3000RK, and will do the same with the 3485. On the 3000RK the cabinet door (facing the recliners) on the end of the counter requires you to move the recliner to get at the storage space, whereas in the 3485 the door is easily accessible because the end of the counter is in an open area. We really enjoy the rear kitchen in the 3000RK, especially the handy trashcan space under the counter. Of course, if we get the 3485 we will go with a different TV. We currently have a Chevy 2500HD, and feel we should go to a one ton, more than likely a F450. So, upgrading both the TV and RV are contingent on whether we sell the stick house and go fulltime, which we will probably do next year after our four month stay in Alabama. I think all of us that have the 3000RK are very pleased with it. Ours has been great, we just hadn't planned on getting the rv bug so badly. When we get back to the stick house we can't wait to leave on another trip. (We have had the 3000RK for 9 mos. and have spent 8 mos. living in it on the road, and put about 13,000 miles on it. When and if we trade, we will dearly miss it.)
Although, we are now in Mesquite, Nv. with the wind gusting up to 50+ mph and rocking the 3000RK, so hopefully, when the wind dies down we will still have a roof over our heads. We were going to head to Utah tomorrow, but the winds are supposed to 40+, so we will stay here at the casino an extra day. There goes the money for the 3485. Good luck with your new 3000RK, you will like it.
