We have em, and for the reason that Bob described, we probably always will, UNLESS, we can figure a way to never have Tana where it will snow, or ice up, hmmmmm, below the Mason-Dixon line, well, no, that would not quite work, our ice event was in Huntsville Alabama, think that is souht of the M-D line, eh??

Ok, so I am the contrarian. I studied the slide thingy and decided to do without them. To this point, and my second Montana, I still cannot justify the slide toppers as something that will add significantly to my lifestyle, comfort or efficiency. I had rather spend those dollars elsewhere.

Stiles, if we had your situation, I am not sure we would have them either. You seem to be in Texas during the really snarly winter times and you have your cover at your home base, so rain won't freeze up there. Nope, me thinks you made a good decision for you. Sounds like a win win there, my friend!

I agree. Toppers are not the best choice for everyone. For us, I think having the toppers is a good decision. I don't like climbing the roof to sweep off the slides when we've been under trees. It is slick up there in the rain, by the way. We've also had ice and snow on the toppers that I'd have to chip off or sweep off. And in Autumn we often are under trees. While visitng friends in Texas we had scads of pecans dropping onto the rig. So, for us, having toppers is a no brainer. But for others it may be just the opposite.

In our home part of the country where we have real trees with leaves and everything along with pine cones and needles all kinds of bad stuff gets on top of the slides.I did not want to have Helen climbing up there all the time so we sprung for the toppers. After two years including a winter in high winds and blowing sand and blazing Florida sun they look in real good shape.

Somthing that helps with water standing is to take a basket ball with you and put it under large slide helps with water standing. remember to take it out when you pull in slides. You have to adjust the air in ball to fit your slide.
