explain 2007 chevy 3500 window sticker

OK "guys" wxplain to this "old Ford man" this window sticker:
2007 chevy 3500 HD (it does not say anything about "classic")
I was told that chevy was not building anymore 07 and this does not say classic anywhere, so is this the "new chevy" new emission crap etc? or old? Dealer has not had any 3500 in months.

Nice truck will drive it on Monday. I need to pull all of your combined knowledge on this truck as I don't know squat on the chevy line.

This truck is LT2 with total leather interior 4x4, duals, duramax, 373 gears, (full bed) 8ft. sirus(I wouldn't order), and onstar this is what I remember. Side note I really like this hood it looks like it is able to take in air on both sides back by the windshield.

So there it is educate me on this new chevy.

Chuck, that is the new model with the new emission. The fake air intakes on the hood is what they did on the new 07 models.

To be an '07 "Classic", it should look exactly like an '06, and would have to have a build date before Jan 1, 07. I doubt you will find any new Classics on dealers' lots now. (On edit: ...also the front cover of the Owner's Manual says "Classic").

I'm not about to try to convince a Ford Man to buy a Chev. If YOU like it, and it does what YOU need, YOU go for it. We are happy with our choice.

I understand that the "2007 classic" was nothing more than a made over 2006 to compete with the 2007 models from Ford and Dodge. The real 2007 was not introduced until sometime after the first of this year. The reason that we opted to get the "classic" was that it had the LBZ engine that could run on both types of diesel. The 2007's could run on only the Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel.

I've had my 07 Classic for almost a year, here's a summary:

- It says "Classic" on both the window sticker and the owner's manual.
- Actually a Classic is an 06 with an 07 title, no change in the truck at all.
- The Classic can use either LSD or the new ULSD.
- The new model uses ULSD only.
- The new model has the new body style.
- All Chevy one tons (srw and drw) have long beds, there is no sb option.
- All Chevy diesels come with the 3.73 rear end, no options.

Buy it, you'll love it.

The Vin number 8th diget will tell you for sure. If it's a 'D' then you have the Classic. If its a '6' than you have the newer 2007 with the new emission stuff on it.

Another way you can easily tell is the body is different. If you're not sure which is which, look for the Duramax emblem. The Classic has it on the door. The new one has it on the side of the hood. None of the dealers had the new 3500/2500 with diesel when we were looking in May. They all had only the Classic.

The 07 Classic 3500 does not have "HD" behind it. The "HD" was only on the 2500HD. If the sticker in the window says "3500 HD" then it is the new body style.

I just sold my GMC 8.1 gasser, and brought a new 2500HD,4WD LTZ crew cab,with 6.6L DURAMAX DIESEL,Allison, 3.73 ratio.With 365 hp and 660fpt it's a great TV.The Diesel Particulate Filter,cleans it self while driving it takes about 20 min.These are B5 BIODIESEL COMPATABLE they can run on 95 percent diesel and 5 percent biodiesel.

dscott: on my 2007.5 it says in the manual NOT to use any form of Biodiesel whatsoever or it could damage your engine and void your warranty. It says :Use only D-2 Ultra Low Sulfur Fuel(ULSF) or, in very cold temperatures, use seasonally adjusted D-2 (ULSF) or D-1 (ULSF) in the DPF-equipped Duramax diesel. I have the LMM also and unless you have put the Bio-Diesel conversion kit on it then I would only use what is reccommended. Also you can only use an engine oil which is API or American Petroleum Institute classification of CJ-4. This oil has been designed to operate properly with you DPF-equipped Duramax.
