LUBE ,Oil and Filter
Why they still have the LUBE part on this I will never know. The trucks after the mid 90,s only have 2 to 4 grease fittings, the older trucks had 6 to 8 grease fittings. When I replaced both of my front wheel bearing assy. on my 2001 Dodge which you could just repack or change bearings for about $20.00 on the older trucks, now you have to spend about $200.00 per side. Lifting the boots and seals on some of the front end components while I had the front apart, I found most to be dry. I drilled and tapped and put in grease fittings on most
. I find it strange that when one of these front end parts fail, the replacement will have grease fittings. The same with the universal joints on the drive shaft. Now you have Lube Oil and Filter.

The industry LOF. Most places want to do a LOF such as it is, but very little "service".

hahaha - I like that Rick!
I remember back in the 70s when you had to remove the factory threaded plug and install a grease zerk on every greasable joint on a Ford. I asked a Ford rep once and he said there is more damage done for over greasing than not greasing, and if they put a zerk there it will be overgreased.

If I can't change the oil and filter my self I will pay to have it done. I will always check my own fluid levels and grease the 6 or 7 fittings myself. It really bothers me when someone overfills something so they can charge extra for the fluid.

Or worse yet say they checked it and charge you, and the rear end burns up due to grease worms eating up all the grease. Happened to a customer of mine. Showed me the resiept and was SERVICED less than 500 miles.
