20K Curt Hitch?

I was wondering if anyone had one of these? I'm upgrading my hitch to a 20K. I have priced around and this one seems to be the best deal. I don't know a lot about the brands of hitches. The Curt hitch is able to be greased and has 3 grease fittings and also has a 7 year warranty. Is this good? Thanks for the info.

What do you plan on towing with a 20k hitch?

The reason I will be getting the 20K is they said It will fit in the same rail system I already have. I currently have a Reese Pro Series 15K hitch. Does anyone know of any other brands that will fit in the rails I already have? I did not want to pay for another installation if I didn't have to. The people told me they didn't have anything else which would fit in the same rails except for the 20K. I don't need the 20K, I would be fine with a 18K. I will be towing a new Big Sky 340RLQ.

We have had steel hitches before going with the Trailer Saver air ride hitch 20k. It also fits in Reese rails and Valley/Huskey. I highly recomend the Trailer Saver we really wouldn't want to go back to the steel hitch, it really makes the 5er ride like its on a cloud. It also takes a lot of stress off you 5th wheel. You would be amazed at the difference in the ride for the 5er.... We haven't owned the Curt hitch so really can't comment. But I'm sure someone has. Good luck on your choice. GBY....

We are going back to a Chevy 3500 HD with DRW. This will be the 3rd TV the Trailer Saver has been in, we are going with new Reese bed rails, just don't want to reuse the old rails in the new 3500 HD..

I put one in my new to me truck. The main reason I went with this hitch is it was the right price by about 400 bucks over anything comparable. It is also has grease fittings to lube all the moving parts. So far the hitch has performed great with my 5th air-borne. Good buy at a little over 600 bucks on E-bay. If you have a Dodge you will need the special front brackets at around 50 bucks. This hitch will be a great spoiler to the other brands on the market. Because of the price not to mention it looks good too.

Tunes, I would make sure that you have enough bolts in the existing rails for this heavier hitch. May need to add more then the 15k used. Call Curt they will be very happy to assist you with any questions, Real nice people.

We ended up getting the Curt 20K for $599. It fit in the exsisting Resse rails we had. We towed the Big Sky with it from MO to AR. (about 300miles) and it did great. It really absorbs the side to side motion well and with the Mor/Ryde hitch on the trailer it was a great ride in the TV. The three grease fittings are real easy to get to. On May 31st we will be leaving for Oregon, (a 2400 mile trip) this will be the true test for it.

Here it is ! Links to my Curt Q5 20K hitch and slider. 3 U-tube video's included as well. I think for my 1'st 5er that I made a good choice for the value/ride quality and price. and it looks good to, better than say the reese. is easy to take apart. Has easy to read indicators to let you know what stage of coupling you are in and when you are firmly locked. I am new at this but think it's a good product. The guy I had install it worked for Boeing for 20+ years doing R&D machining and said the slider rail system is top of the line in his opinion.

u tube viedos in 3 parts so you can take a look at it

I SAW ON A BULLITAN THAT SOME OF THE NEW 5'THAIRBORNE "SIDEWINDER SERIES" THE ONE THAT ROTATES AT THE PIN BOX INSTEAD OF USING A SLIDER WILL NOT WORK ON THE 20K HEAD !!!!!!!!! IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING A CURT 20K HEAD AND ARE WANTING TO USE ONE OF THE "SIDEWINDER" STYLE PIN BOXES LOOK INTO IT A BIT TO SEE OF THE COMBO WILL WORK OR NOT ! I THINK ITS BECAUSE THE 20K HEAD HAS SO MUCH ROTATION MOVEMENT?
