TV Air Filters

I did a search on this subject with no results so here is my question: what brand ait filters do you use on your deisel TV?

I changed to a oil coated type replacement but understand this is not a good idea.

Thanks for your comments,

Bob

Stock GM filters. Best performance for GM products.

You don't mention your TV in your profile or your Monty. Both would be helpful. (hint)
dieselplace.com which is a very informative source for Duramax information, has had many discussion threads regarding this issue. An extensive test was undertaken some time back, and the end results declared the OE filter to be the most effective in cleaning and overall performance.

Stock GM filters for all the filters on my Duramax. Just makes life easier if there happens to be a warranty issue...

I'm still on the original filter at 80,000 miles and the filter "minder" says we're not even close to needing to replace it. 80k on a filter boggles my mind but the Ford dealers I've asked (2 or 3 of them) all say 80k is not unusual on that filter if I'm not doing a lot of dirt or sand roads. Good thing. That filter is in the neighborhood of $75 to $100 last I looked.

I will use Ford's Motorcraft filter if and when I need to change it. I think the only other filter that meets Ford's spec (ultra fine filtering) and "approved for warranty" is whomever makes the filter for them. I haven't checked in a year so maybe there's more that are approved by now.

Read the post "chips and air". That should answer your question.

With the Banks Power Pack, a lifetime filter was added as part of the package. It gets cleaned every 25,000 miles and coated with oil. No problems in over 100,000 miles.

I run the Donaldson Powercore filter on my 7.3. It was a direct replacement for the original setup from Ford ... airbox, battery holder, and all. They came standard on the 6.0's. Flows and filters well.

Thanks for the reply to my air filter question everyone.

The filter in question is a K&N replacement used on my 2000 Dodge 5.9 24v turbo diesel. I have a Montana 3075 on order and the off-line date is 4-27.

I run the same filter as dieselguy and quite pleased with it. It is available from Ford and the only one of course that they recommend.

I use the 'factory' Motorcraft. I have not wanted to go to the oil type from the evaluations I have read since I am not out for ultimate performance in the short run.
