3400RL Basement Mod

The last couple times we have been out, I kept wondering how to make the basement floor one transition instead of having that darn step down area near the doors. Something would always get catty-wampus and almost fall on me when opening a basement door.

One day I said, "Huh! PVC"
I used 1/2 inch PVC as supports for a 1/4 inch peg board. Elbows and "T" connectors were easy to use for supports. None of the PVC is glued so I can take it apart at anytime

Here are the results. (Both sides are done)
Basement Mod

Edited: Next I'm going to do the back seat area between the bench seat and the back of the front seat rests so Puppy can have a bigger area to roam. Will probably put trap like doors for underneath storage. She still has a chewing habit for anything on the floor.

Nice job Wayne! I took one of the wire closet racks you can buy at Lowes, Home Depot or the like and cut it down to the width of the basement, turned it upside down with the hanger edge up, then used the small plastic clips you secure them to the wall with in a stick and put two short screws into the carpet and wood flooring. Used about four clips on each of the two openings. With our 2930 there is a small 2" edge on each side also to the shelving rests on it and not problems. Don't even need any center supports-- at least not yet anyway. Space underneath used to store some of the smaller items used. Wish I had a picture of them but I don't. I'll try and get on and post it when we get back from Georgia and Alabama!

Waynem

We used 1/2" plywood with a 3/4 by 1 1/2" for the edge and all in covered with the same kind of material.
