I bought a tall, single lever with pull out head at Home Depot. The brand was "glacier Bay" and cost $74. It had the flex hoses and only took about 20 mins to exchange. Love it.

WELL I FINALLY FOUND THE ANSWER TO MY SUPPLY LINE FITTINGS DILEMA.
I took my existing supply line to Lowe's and purchased the Kohler kitchen faucet I wanted.
The Kohler faucet I chose had flex supply lines with a 3/8" Compression fitting to connect to. I had about decided to place barbed ends on each fitting and run a flex water line between them when a store employee came but to "help". I showed the man what I wanted to do and he says "SURE WE HAVE AN ADAPTER FITTING THAT WILL CONNECT THE TWO LINES TOGETHER".
Finally a salseman that knows his merchandise.
Now bare in mind that just last week, I was told by a plumbing store salesman that such a fitting did not exist. Well it does. Probably any real plumber knows it.
For my fittings the adapter at Lowe's is a a WATTS brand brass 3/8" Comp. x 1/2" MIP w/insert. (I did not need to use the insert) Package has stock no. A-124
968-P

Faucet and sprayer are installed and works great.
