Anti-Siphon vacuum breaker replaced
I just finished replacing the cheap anti-siphon vacuum breaker on my black tank flush. I found a good brass one on Amazon.

Looks like a far better one than those plastic originals. At least it will not be cracking.

That manufacture is 50 mile from my home, that’s a much better product.

I took the piece of junk out completely and have one on my hose that I use to flush the black tank.

Yep took mine out as soon as I got it home when new. Had the leaking problem on my 2010 and learn my lesson.

Those valves cause more problems then they are worth. Remove it completely. I see absolutely no use for them. When you hook up to flush your tank, the tank should be mostly empty. There is no way for water/sewage to get sucked back into the system since the spray head would not be submerged unless you are doing something wrong when flushing your tank.

So....... has anyone actually seen what that black tank flush mechanism looks like? Gotta a pic to post? I cutter vacuum breaker out today and put shark bite end caps on both lines where they come up under the sink. Am debating if i’ll Re-attach in the spring or jus5 use a wand to clean out the tank. Any thoughts? Also installed my new 320 toilet today, oh yea, best seat in the house! Also shark bite valves on all sink lines. Not sure how to do the shower though. Also got the Oxygenics shower spa installed. ��

So is this valve hidden behind the wall of the water connections compartment?
Being an oilfield plumber, I agree with the remove it completely and just use a ball valve on the hose connection end of the line! I mean really what are the chances that you would get anything backwards thru that system anyway????

jking, I replaced all my valves this past summer and had all the drain lines removed from the front two tanks. I could look straight into the black tank and see the spray head on the opposite side of the tank.
It is nothing more than a brass? fitting with a few holes aimed downward that spray water towards the tank bottom to wash away any debris that may be sitting there.
I do have many pics but do not know how to post them here (I tried)
If you provide a cell # I would be more than happy to text some to you. Maybe you or someone else can post them.

I figured out how to post pics, Yea. (see previous post)
One pic shows the fitting from the outside. The other shows it from the inside ( its the thing at the opposite end from the drain hole).
Like I said previously, the spray head would not get submerged in water/sewage until the tank is around 2/3 to 3/4 full. The bottoms of the tanks are sloped towards the drains a pretty good amount. I would guess the drain end is a good 3 to 4" + deeper than the opposite end where the spray head is.

The system does work fairly well for what it is. In my case to drain pipe from the toilet enters the top of the tank around a foot from the drain end so I would think a wand would not be of much help since it would most likely push the debris away from the drain, the opposite direction you want it to go.
