Washer/dryer or not
Hi there, we are planning our new "home" and are considering add on's of which a washer and dryer are on the list, I was wondering if any of you have them and why or why not? And any idea of the weight of them? Thanks so much, Kerri

We wouldn't be without ours. We have the Splendide Combo and it is great. It's just a matter of choice, as some people don't mind going to laundramats. Also, many campgrounds have them. However, I prefer to do my laundry in-house even though it means smaller loads.

We also have the combo unit. Having a washer/dryer was one of the requirements of the DW when choosing what to buy. Our rig does not have space for separate units.
Loads are fairly small, but you can put in a load, set it to wash and dry, and go about what ever you want to do. Come back later to a clean, dry load of laundry. Sure beats sitting in a laundramat.

We also have the Splendide combo unit. We both love it and would not be without it. Just put in a small load and let it go. We hated going to laundramats - some were OK and clean but many more were not. Paid for itself very soon.

Per Splendide.com, 148 pounds for the 2100XC
We resisted for many years, figuring the storage space was more important, noting we are NOT full timers.
Then my health changed, and with it my tolerance level for laundrymats tanked,
I now have the 2100XC and don't try to take it away from me, I snarl! LOL

We have the Combo unit and LOVE IT. I'm with Carol - don't try to take it away. The nice thing is you can do laundry while you are doing something else or put a load in before you get dressed or put a load in a night after you get in you jamies. Can't do that at a laundermat - well I hope not! LOL Before we purchased ours I did a spread sheet based on how much we were spending at laundermat vs the cost of the unit over two years. The W/D won.
Happy trails.................

We have a Splendide Combo unit and wouldn't be without it. I grew up camping with my parents and still have vivid memories of the many hours we wasted in laundromats all over the country waiting for the clothes to wash and dry rather than actually camping or sightseeing. Sometimes the laundromats were clean and safe, but many times they weren't.
Although you have to wash smaller loads with the Splendide combo than you do with a stick-and-brick set, I have grown to love it, especially the ease of tossing in a load to wash and dry automatically without my having to babysit with it. I initially didn't want to spend the money for the unit, but I am now glad that my husband talked me into doing so.

We've only used ours (Splindide Combo Vented unit) once and DW loves it. It does as others have stated put load in and don't think about it until it's doce. We are currently loading up our new 3455SA up as we are now fulltimers. Hooray

Unlike the others, we have the Splendide stackable washer and dryer not the combo, and I love it, love it, love it. We thought about getting the combo, but went with the stackable because of the increased load capacity. We did lose some storage, but I would rather have the stackables.

Been full timing since March 2007. We have the Splendide stackable. We find it indispensable.

We had the combo in our 1st Monty and used it all the time but we went with the stackable when we got the Big Sky.. It was part of the deal we made with our dealer and I love the extra capacity in the stackables. I still use laundermats once in awhile for large blankets etc but that is few and far between.

We have a combo unit. Very convenient. We are not full-timers so we do not use it a bunch.
Pros: No trips to the Laundromat
Don't have to wait, we can still go about our day
Cons: Load Size
Noise
We hate doing laundry. So when it is time to do laundry we want to do it all at once. Typically we can carry enough clothes for a trip so the W/D in the RV is only used when something was spilled on clothes or just a few pieces need to be done. If we are on the road for several weeks we will hit the laundromat and do several loads at the same time.

We had ours plumbed and wired for washer and drier and are glad we didn't have them put in. We use the space for vacuum cleaner, broom, dust pan, dirty clothes container and hang our coats and other things in there.
We have no problem going to a laundromat and washing four loads at once rather than one at a time. Saves a lot of time.

Hi I have a question, since the DW wants a way to stay out of the the laundry mat. where do you vent the dryer, I have the 07 3485SA. The cabinet it plumbed for a washer but I don't see where it vented to the outside. I don't see anyone telling how much these units cost. Is it a secret? If anyone can help, message me on my private email. No one will know? Ok its three questions. How much does it weigh? Thanks.

The combo 2100XC (xtra capacity) is listed at 148 lbs. Price is around $1100-1200. Do some internet shopping.
Will require cutting a hole in the side wall to vent to the outside.
