R V Park in Near Carlsbad CA and south
We have a new Great grand daughter arriving about May first. We want to find an RV Park in the Carlsbad area or south of there that can take a 39 foot RV. Any suggestions???

Your best bet will probably be north in Oceanside but I've never stayed there so I can't give a park recommendation. The two state campgrounds (dry camping) in and south of Carlsbad are kinda tight for a big rig. It can be done but it'll take proper site selection and some skills as the access roads are pretty tight making backing a challenge. The next big issue would be availability. Both beach parks book very quickly and both have a two week limit if one could even get a spot for that long. There are a couple small private parks in the immediate area but I've never checked into them. I'd check them out closely on google maps before booking. South into San Diego has a few options but the drive from Oceanside would probably be better.

Try the Escapees park, The Ranch, in Lakewood. There isn't a friendlier park.

We stayed at Paradise by the Sea RV park in Oceanside last spring. Clean facilities, close to the ocean. Easy on and off the I-5, groceries less than a mile away. We would stay there again.

We have stayed at Pardise by the Sea in Oceanside. It is a bit pricey, but very nice, and as stated is right by the ocean. Easy access.

Thanks all. Yesterday we looked at all the ones you talked about. Paradise has 2 or 3 sites we could get in but between the trains and freeway it is very noisy. We found one in Mission Bay in North San Diego. A bit further south than we wanted but it works. Between the kids house and her hospital. Plus we have not spent time in SD in years. The price for the park at the time we need was not all that bad. So we booked it. Mission Bay RV Resort $309.00 for a week.
