Debris coming out of air vents
We have a 2019 Montana 3121RL. We use it frequently, but just recently noticed paperlike material on the bed, kitchen and bathroom counters and floors. We figured out that it was blowing out of the air vents. We removed and cleaned the vent covers, but the material is still coming out. Has anyone experienced this?

You may have an unwelcome visitor making a home up there somewhere if it’s a significant amount of debris. We’ve always had a little bit of sawdust, etc for the first few times we used a new trailer, especially after traveling, but it clears up with time.

I would go on the roof an remove the AC unit covers and look at the squirrel cage blower wheel area and see if you have drawn in some stuff from the outside and its hung up in there getting shredded and then blowing thru all the vents..

You say paper like material, is it sort of gray in color?? Wondering if you had some Hornets build a nest and it's now being drawn in by the fan.

You can also remove a few overhead vents and then use a cell phone with its light turned on and set camera to video mode and hold cell phone in the vent and pan around inside overhead vents and then review the video to see if it reveals more

a bore scope is low priced on the net - this would allow you to check duct work for issue

Thank you. We have seen the sawdust in the past too. We've been using this RV for about 2 years, so the unwelcome visitor is possible.

I appreciate all of the responses. Hornets is very possible where we live. So is the possibility of drawing something in from outside. We will try these suggestions to investigate further.

my previous motorhome before my montana i had a similiar problem only ants. they were big black ants. parked under a tree and they would fall on the roof and got inside from the air conditioner.. we were sitting one nite and i could see styrofoam pellets falling from the ceiling. next thing i saw a few black ants inside. went to home depo and bought stuff to get rid of them but it did not work. no pest control company would sell me anything stronger because i was not licensed. i called the place in georgia were i get my pest control for the critters we have here in az. i had them send what they recommended it to our next stop which was in goshen for a rally. guy told me to place the ant control pesticides all over and if i did see any ants at it not to kill them because they would take it back to the nest. took maybe a week but they were finally gone. if you ever need anything like this the place to get it is do your own pest control in georgia they are great.

I also use the Do Your Own Pest Control company. Great people to work with. They sell a product called Bifen IT. It's actually a termiticide, but works on any kind of bug and is very safe to use. Mix 1oz. per gallon of water to kill most bugs. I keep a 1 gallon pump up sprayer in the 5er for those times when we get in to ants or other problems.

Yes. I even use it at home. My current pest control guy said they use it in homes where pets and kids are since it is so safe.
