PITZA STONE IN OVEN

I've heard that placing a pitza stone in the RV oven will even out the oven temp. We are not experiencing any problem with the oven temp but thought we would try placing the stone into the oven anyway.

The question is, where do you put the stone ?? On the complete bottom or on a rack ?? Do you place the pan your cooking in directly on the stone or on a rack above the stone ??
