We went the cheap route and had an 11"x11" unfinished Terra Cotta tile cut to fit into the bottom recess of the oven. Propane heat seems to be much hotter than NG and this tile now diffuses enough heat around the oven to prevent our baking goods from getting burnt on the bottom.

Works great. Since then and during our travels the tile has split into two pieces on the diagonal, but it still fits into the recess and stays in place. Most pizza stones we saw were more expensive, more round than square and didn't seem like they'd fit right. The square stone solution seems to do the job. We've used it for many years.
