Heated tanks?
When the dealer was going over the Monty with us he mention that the tanks were heated, looking over the other amenties of the rig I forget to get back to the tanks. Since the bottom is enclosed I can't see the way the wiring goes. So are the tanks heated and if so is there a feed for the heat so you can turn it off and on? I can't find any thing marked, it has to be dc I would think. Thanks for any and all replies. Jack

Unless they have changed since 2002 the heated tanks are heated by a 2 inch heat duct from the furnace.
When the furnace comes on it blows hot air into the enclosed underbelly.

The Cambridge has heated tanks. Not sure about any other Montys. Might be an option, Be sure to verify before you buy.

It was not an option for 2003 models and when we toured the factory in May it was not an option then. Awaywego described it as I understand it.

Is there a kit to install heat strips? If not has anyone tried to use the heat tape for pvc pipe?

Ric-
I use the heat tape on my water well pressure switch tubing with no ill effects. The tubing is 1/4" plastic. I secure it with tie-wraps and then cover it with foam insulation. So far there have not been any signs of melting, been doing it for 6 winters. Instructions that came with it said the thermostat activates the strip at 38 degrees and it is important that the control be weatherproof.

Thanks for the replies. Living here in Texas and working in Construction I do not winterize very well. Winter is the only time I can take off without affecting my customer much.
