GS Road Service Story

My buddy with the blown transmission was telling me about his recent experience with Good Sams Road Service. Called GS at 8:30 for his tow to the nearest Chevy Dealer, which was 34 miles away. They went around and around all day because GS would only pay for his vehicle to be towed 14 miles to another repair facility where their "RV Expert" said it could be fixed. He of course wanted it towed to the nearest Chevy dealer. Even though he finally was going to agree to pay the difference the tow company was still dragging their feet not wanting to split the bill. Finally he asked to talk to a manager at GS and they discovered that he was actually covered for a tow up to 100 miles because he was an elite GS member (he purchased his new Toy Hauler at CW). GS then calls tow company back and after a 7 hour delay they towed him and all was good.

I agree, he is due for a break. Just talked to him for about 45 minutes tonight. He is really taking it good all things considered. The last thing I told him before we hung up was at least no one is shooting at you (he is a retired LEO who did 30+ years of patrol on the midnight shift in a ghetto neighborhood). It seemed to cheer him up even more!

Not something I would have mentioned. In the world we currently live in that could be next for him.
