Rear Stabilizer Jacks quit working on 12V & 110V

Our rear stabilizer jacks quit working on 12V and 110, but we can crank them down and up manually. They used to work fine when we lowered them with the toggle switch and then started working once in a while. Now they don't work at all with the toggle switch or the remote. I checked the fuse in the battery compartment and it is not blown. Could it be that the electric motor is dead? Has this happened to anyone else? We have an extended warrenty, but I'm wondering if there is something that I can try that might fix the problem.

Not likely motor. Probably bad connection.

Seems like I remember some previous problems with water intrusion into the motor housings causing electrical corrosion with connections as well as corrosive rusting inside the motor housing. It may be possible to check voltage at the motor when the switch is thrown to discount supply issues, but I am not sure and would have to defer to one of the MOC electrical gurus. The other thing would be to lubricate the stabilizer gears themselves to see if it is just a binding problem that the motor cannot overcome.

There is an earlier thread on here about the motor not being sealed properly and eventually the motor dies. They are pricey, but it is possible to seal the opening where the wires come in better so it doesn't do it again.

We were victims of water intrusion. We had ours rebuilt for a hundred bucks and then used a bunch of silicone to seal the motor.

Do you have 12 volts at the exterior switch? If you do, it's the motor. If you don't, it might be a bad ground at the receiver in the front compartment.

We also had water work it's way into the motor. We were 3 months beyond warranty. Lippert replaced the motor, in fact they replaced the whole rear assembly. Kudos to Lippert for doing right by us.
