Fresh water tank
I've had several opinions as to whether to travel with a full water tank. The dealer said to keep it full as it compresses the suspension and improves the ride. Full or empty, what do you guys think??

Unless you boondock, I only keep a little in the fresh if I have to pull over on the side of the road for a pit stop otherwise why carry the weight???? just for a better ride (which is debatable)

there is the question, like mike and kat they boondock so they need it full. If you are going to a place that has hook up's or a way to fill when there, then I would leave it low or empty. there has been several issues with the tanks cracking on the brackets when full. you will see many post on cracked tanks. but, to each their own.

told to just keep a gallon or so in the tanks....something about the seals.
to me a full tank of water is just to much weight if nothing else.

I travel with about 1/3 of a tank for pit stops, lunch breaks, etc. Don't like to carry much more than that because of the weight factor-that is unless we are dry camping then it is filled to the "brim"....

We travel with it full. If you ever break down like we have and are towed to a dealer lot while your vehicle is being repaired you will be glad if that tank is full and your holding tanks are empty.

I'm with Mudchief. We've had occasions when we broke down and were mighty glad to have empty black and grey tanks and full fresh water tank. We were able to keep on living while we waited for repairs.

I only keep about 1/3 tank of water when traveling for pit stops. Why fill the tank with 50 gal. (about 425 lbs.) and carry the extra weight if you are staying at campgrounds or parks with water available.

I am in Lake Havasu now and the RV park just lost their water due to a water main break. Sure glad I had some water in the fresh water tank, a few of the RVs around me did not have water in their tanks- they are SOL until the city fixes the break.

I travel with 10 Gal wash hands and flush. If I am staying at a park for a few weeks I fill the holding tank just in case and it has happened the park loses it's water supply

I leave home full. Tank is in the very back of rig so some weight is off the pin. I also don't think the weight makes much difference in mpg in the grand scheme of things. JMHO.
