Survive "Sandy?"

I hope that all my northeast fellow Montana owners survived hurricane Sandy without any damage. The NJ shore was ripped apart fairly well and the damage worked far inland.

I'm with you. It's looking pretty ugly out there from where we sit. We pray for safety and recovery for all our Eastern friends.

We're on the south shore of Long Island. No damage or power loss for us but it is all around us. What a mess.

Here in NE Pennsylvania, we had a LOT of wind and not much rain. I had the generator ready but never lost power. It made be glad that Tropical Storm Lee and the July 26th tornado took down all but a few trees from the "inhabited" portion of the property. No worry about fallen trees. The Montana fared very well.

Several of the paramedics and EMT's that I work with are in New Jersey with our regional Strike Team providing service to the affected area.

Been without power here in Pine Grove, PA going on three nights...COLD! The only damage we had to the Montana is the large slide topper over the sofa and dinette "shiffted" to the rear of the coach about two inches. Had an RV repair guy out this morning to move it back to its original location...charged $20 for the repair/service call...got to love repair people who are not out to scalp their customers. If you are ever in this area, the service company is called "Boltz's RV Service." Can't say how they would do on some other more difficult service, but they sure treated us right on our service call.

We did well in Maryland, no power outage lots of rain and wind. Our neighboring states and shore line was hit hard. Thanks to all who emailed or called to see how we are. Our Moc is great!

Glad to hear you guys came out alright, with the exception of the rig that was under water, I hope the rest of the MOC family did as well.

We were in Cherry Hill Park in College Park, Maryland, wind was strong and lots of rain, but we never lost power. We were able to tour Washington DC today, saw some down trees, but the capital seems to have survived with minimal damage.

Maine dodged the bullet! We had high winds and at times torrential downpours, lost power for a few hours but overall it was nothing compared to the south of us.

The Big Sky is also good and is anxiously awaiting our next adventure.

When I watch the news it is unbelievable, my heart goes out to all. We have family in New York and New Jersey and have been keeping them updated with the devastation in their states. With no power, communication is difficult.

Both of my kids live in Central Pa. They got some heavy wind and rain. Lots of trees down and several buildings lost their brick facade. Lots of folks without power. My boy belongs to my old fire company now and said that was the extent of their runs that night, down wires and trees. But neither of their houses received any damage. I have the scanner app downloaded to my phone so I could listen to it most of the night but it lost the signal around 11pm.

We are visiting our daughter in MD were able to set up her generator just before the power went out. The next morning I went to Home Depot for a non power project and as I was walking around the electrical area I heard several very scary discussions about what people wanted to do the get their generators connected into their house. Fortunately the HomeDepot people were knowledgeable and warned the people about the dangers in what they were trying to do. This store had received a shipment of gens the night of the storm and by the next morning had them already on carts in a line going toward the checkout for anyone who wanted to buy one.

My sister in Swedesboro came through unscathed. She didn't lose power nor suffer any damage. A friend who lives in Surf City on Long Beach Island says it will be between two and six months before he is allowed to inspect his home. The natural gas pipe lines on the island were torn to pieces. They all have to be fixed before they can begin any repairs on the electrical system.
