great weekend
Had a great weekend, got the monty and went below ft.gibson dam site (oklahoma) the trees were turning colors and we went below the dam on the river, seen 2 BALD EAGLES in a tree looking over the river, watched them for 20 minutes or more. seen serveral pelicans, ducks, loons, and a little 2pt buck early morning on the run, temps a little warm but overall a great fall weekend trip. will hope to get one in november before shes put up to hibernate.

This is a great time of year to view wildlife, particularly as the migratory birds head south. Glad you had a great time.

We have bald eagles here in western Va where I live. When I was young there was no eagles no hawks they were chicken hawks and were
shot on sight. There was no deer no turkeys. Times have changed. Thank goodness!!!

Same kind of a weekend one state north of OK. We camped out at Cheney Lake, one of our local mud holes. We watched a brown eagle swoop down and catch a fish over near Hobie Beach. We sat out in the boat and let wave after wave of Pelicans, Coots, and Gulls fly over and around us just inches off the water. The sound of their wings moving air and occasionally slapping the water was awesome. The last of September we gazed at hundreds of Pelicans on Perry Lake Kansas. It seems to have become a major stop for those big ole birds. They flew around in great circles dropping off to land on the lake in small groups just like squadrons of airplanes coming back from a mission.

Bald Eagles are common in our area. One mating pair in Redding have their own website and nest camera! Funny they picked a location next to a major highway!
