Electric Brake Conversion

There could be a possibility in the near future that I may be upgrading to hydraulic disc brakes on the Monty. Does anyone here know of a link to a video such as U-Tube that would show the conversion process? I have tried a search but have not had much luck. Also, asking for those who have upgraded, what brand of equipment did you use and where did you get the upgrade kit from? TX

As soon as I get time (?) this is on my agenda. I was looking at the kits on etrailer.com. I bought my hitch and rails from them also, a real good experience.

Had mine done by MorRyde on a Rally special along with IS. While they were at it they also changed the lugs to the next larger size. I would assume because of the added pressure of really being able to stop the wheel at speed.

I had mine done at Mor/Ryde and included the Independent Suspension because I did not believe the current suspension would survive the 40% extra torque or more the disc brakes could produce.
I believe there was an article in Trailer Life about 2001 to 2004 time frame. I have not tried to search it.

Do you remember about what the cost was to upgrade w/o the IS?

This is just an alternate idea I went with when I was pondering installing disc brakes... I ordered 2 each Dexter 7000# brake assys 23-464 LH / 23/465 RH and put them on my 3150RL. The 7000# brake assys have a bit stronger magnet and more agressive shoe material and bolt right on. After about 50 miles of "burn in" there was a noticable difference in braking from the 6000# assys that I was never impressed with. I well agree disc brakes will always be superior to drum brakes, but this change pleases me and was about $1000 cheaper than going with disc. Before I get all the knee jerk warnings about putting 7000# brakes on 6000# axles ... I wonder how many disc brake conversions on 6000# axles are out there making their owners proud and happy???
