Proud Montana Owner

Glad to have found this site. Took possession of a 2004 Montana 2980RL last week. Arrived home about 2:30 PM and at 4:00 PM we were loaded up traveling to a campground.

We are Dave and Carla. I've been retired from the Bayfield County Sheriff's Dept for 6 yrs and now work(hate that 4 letter word) part-time in the county Zoning Dept. Also serve as a court bailiff. Carla is still working as the City of Washburn Deputy Clerk-Treasurer. She will be retiring in January. Lots of camping trips after that. She wants to go to Myrtle Beach immediately upon retirement for a couple of weeks. Not certain I'm up to pulling the 5'ver in the middle of Winter.

5'ver is set up in the backyard so that we can load it up and get it organized. Sure has a lot more room and storage space than our Coleman tent camper had. Plan on a trip to the UP over Labor Day.

We have a daughter and son. Daughter has given us 9 yr old twin grandsons. Son has 3 yr old girl and 1 yr old boy.

Found about this site on the rv.net forums. Plan on spending lots of time here.

Welcome aboard Dave and Carla! Hip, hip, hooray another "cheesehead" has joined the forum!!! We too thought we died and went to heaven with all the extra room when we took delivery of our Monty several weeks ago. Like you, we moved up from a 10' dutchman pop-up (traveling 40,000 miles in four years)! Know you will enjoy your new rig. May you have many happy trails .....

P.S. You invested in a great model!
